Thank you, Honee!

My friend Sheila and I have been planning this day for a couple of weeks. We were scheduled to get our haircut! It has been snowing for days now and I was not looking forward to driving in all that SNOW! I was going to cancel the appointment, but I called Jeff first to just check and see if he thought I could make it. He said I could, but knew that I would not enjoy the drive. So my WONDERFUL husband drove me to and from the salon in Niles! Have I mentioned just how wonderful my Jeff is?! HE SAVED MY DAY! Well, I met my friend Sheila at the salon. (Her husband drove her too! I think he must also be wonderful!) Sheila and I both got our haircut. I wish I would have gotten a picture of us together, Sheila looked GREAT! We had so much fun there and learned a whole lot of new things. 1.Start curling your hair from the bottom and work your way up. 2.If you want 6 hairs to look like 1 use gel/ if you want 1 hair to look like 6 use moose! 3.If you want a great cut and a lot of fun go to see LeeAnn. Our hair stylist, LeeAnn was so funny. We all laughed a whole lot until...I got my eyebrows waxed. Oh man did that bring tears to my eyes! It was worth the experience, but not sure I will ever do it again. Aside from the eyebrows, today was so much fun that I think from now on I will always go to the salon with a friend!
I just have to tell you what Jeff did while I got my haircut. He went grocery shopping for me! I told you he was great. Sorry girls...HE IS MINE!

Haircut anyone!

Today was the day for haircuts in our house. I cut about four inches off of Amy's head of hair. She is now wearing a cute little bob (uneven, but still cute). Jeff and Daniel are looking handsome once again. I love it when they get their haircut. They both needed a lot cut off, but no where near Amy's four inches!
It was also tooth pulling day. Emily requested that I pull out one of her teeth for her. All I can say is that when you are a mom you do almost everything imaginable at some point in your "career"! The many jobs of motherhood are different than I ever dreamed of. Worth it...just different!

Snow days

Here is Amy out on a sled. Our days now are consistantly filled with school and sledding. We have been told to "expect" 10 more inches of snow this weekend! I am enjoying all the snow around here. It really is pretty!
I was taken out to lunch today. Life Action takes the wives out for their birthday. They celebrate two months together. Today was for Dec. and Jan. birthdays. It was a lot of fun. While I was out, a man followed me through town and got out of his car when I got out of mine. He wanted to let me know that our brake lights were not working! I thanked him very much and then I prayed for my safe return home. I made it home with no problems. Praise the Lord!
Daniel had his second practice tonight for the YMCA Basketball team that he is on. He is so excited to be on this team. He can't wait for his first game. The children have definently gotten their love of sports from Jeff. They are all very active just like Daddy!
Lauren learned how to sew her skirt yesterday. Her favorite skirt needed two slits closed quite a bit and she did them both by herself! Way to go Lauren!
Emily made supper for us tonight. She made pancakes and a fruit salad. She did an excellent job too! We had no leftovers.

Joel's favorite things to do!

Playing with Daddy would always be his thing of choice. He is standing up in the chair that Jeff and Joel are sharing. Joel loves to stand on things!!!
Next Joel always enjoys playing with a ball. He enjoys so much putting balls inside of an old tennis ball container and "pouring" them out.
Joel has a way of getting himself into just about EVERYTHING! No space is too small for him. And no height is too tall for him.
In our house Joel is known for his LOVE of socks. You read that right. The boy loves SOCKS. He gets so excited when he finds someones socks laying around on the floor. I have to keep a close eye on him to make sure he has found clean socks, because for some strange reason he enjoys CHEWING on them. The other day when we had the Norris children over, Joel kept pestering Joshua's feet while he sat at the table playing playdough. I finally had Joshua take his socks off and hide them so that Joel would leave him alone. Honestly once the socks were off, Joel lost interest in Joshua's feet! I hope he outgrows this phase soon.
I thought that I would end with something that Joel does not enjoy doing at all. He never likes being away from our family! He doesn't care which family member he is with as long as one of us is with him at ALL times. What can I say...their are enough of us to always go around.

WOW

We received a great surprise today. A REALLY thoughtful friend sent us a complete set of the Jonathan Park CD series. They are excellent adventure stories for kids and adults. They each talk about why creation is true and why evolution is wrong. Each story talks about a different reason for both. We are VERY excited to own such good material for the family to listen to. Praise the Lord for giving these to us.
We got a little more snow today. The children spent most of the afternoon outside in it. Daniel didn't even come home for supper. I was getting a little worried by 6:45 and started calling around. Jimmy told me that Daniel was just down the hill playing with Jonathan, Austin and one of their friends. Around 7:00 he came home asking, "When is supper?" I hurried and fed him and sent him to bed.
The rest of the day was nothing to write about. So I will end here for tonight.

Life with 10 children!

Not only did I SURVIVE 5 extra children, but I really enjoyed them the entire day. We had such a great time together. We did school, played in the Snack Shop, ate lunch, went sledding, played playdough, and watched part of a movie. I was also told very funny joke. Why was the little ant so confused? (Because all his uncles were ants!) Well....I thought it was funny!
This picture is of the them all eating lunch. Going around from left to right...Joshua Norris, Lauren, Amy, Nathaniel N., Peter N., Mark Wreford(His mom Tammy came by to spend the afternoon with me! We had alot of fun together. We made homemade rolls and soup. Thank you for coming over. I hope your car is okay!) and the rest of the group is Daniel, Emily, and Jessica N. (Joel was in bed at the time of the picture.) The children were wonderful. I even asked if I could have them back on Friday. Their mom is out of town for the week and dad needs the break!
I better go for now. This has taken alot of time.

GO BEARS!

Just to make sure that I include Jeff in this blog.... GO BEARS! We have spent much of the afternoon watching football. For my sake I am so glad that the Bears won. Jeff was not very happy during the first quarter of the game, but his mood changed for the better once the win was secure. Way to go Bears.
The rest of my day was spent organizing the upstairs. I tore apart the children's bedrooms and got rid of a BUNCH of stuff. I feel so good to have accomplished so much in one day. We will see how long the upstairs stays clean. I am watching four children all day tomorrow. I am sure that the bedrooms will need my attention for a little while after they leave.
Daniel, Amy, and Emily played outside for a few hours and then watched a movie. Lauren read a book in her bed. Joel napped for a couple of hours this aftenoon
.
Today was a very relaxing day! I am ready for Monday to begin.

Snow much fun!

This is Emily and Amy out having fun in the snow. I sure wish that you could be here to play with us. I say "us" because I actually went out and played the other day and I had the time of my life. As long as it is not cold and windy, I really enjoy the snow. There is one more stipulation for me to enjoy the fluffy white stuff...it needs to be OFF THE ROAD!!

Toothless Amy Jo

She was so excited to get that top front tooth out. She had me tug on it at least 8 different times. For losing her tooth she was able to go to the Snack Shop to buy an item of her choice. She chose Peanut Butter M&Ms.

Winter is HERE!!

Winter finally arrived this week! We have enjoyed playing and sledding in all that snow. I had been VERY excited about the pretty snow...until 6:00 this morning! I was woken up out of a sound sleep by the noise of a snow plow passing my window. It passed at least six times between 6:00 and 6:30. It is probably needless to say this, but I had children woken up too. I was very angry at this early morning interuption, until I prayed and thought of something funny. I am starting a new organization. It is called M.A.S.P.A.S.A.M. (those letters stand for Mothers Against Snow Plows At Six A.M.) I had a great laugh and we really did have a terrific day despite being tired.
