Random thoughts

I have been meaning to write for a long time, but with just getting home from Arizona I haven't had the time. I will attempt to write some of the many things I was going to write lately.

This is fresh on mind, so I will start here. Jeff is away for two days. Which means that I am both Mommy and Daddy for today and tomorrow. I have learned one thing today.....you know that it has been a bad day when taking the trash out seems like a vacation!! Okay, it wasn't that bad, but I did get very excited to get out of my house for 45 seconds.

I didn't know that airline service had changed SO MUCH in 18 months!! They charge you for everything now. I was afraid to go to the bathroom on the plane for fear that they would charge me for the toilet paper.

Joel woke me up the other morning. I asked him to please go get his blanket so that we could cuddle for a little while. His reply was something like this..me no can go get my bwainket.

I think that I gained two pounds today. I eat when I am stressed!! I hate it when I do it, but it comes so naturally to me.

It is very cold here. We were swimming in the lake last Friday and today my kids had to have coats on to play outside. I am SO not looking forward to winter. Just seeing the leaves change colors and fall to the ground makes me want to run and hibernate!!!

I have been trying for a LONG TIME to delete/change my name at the end of each post. I finally figured it out last night. It is gone!!! I am so excited!! I am working on making a new one all by myself. Probably not for a couple of weeks, but soon.

I have said this before, but sometimes I just have to say it again. It doesn't take five people very long at all to clean a house. I got very motivated this morning and gave each child a room to clean. They were in charge of getting rid of the clutter and the mess. I cleaned many places and helped where I was needed. Within 30 minutes we had a pretty clean house again!! I so love a clean house, I just hate having it get all messed up again so quickly. Which is why I don't bother cleaning it some days.

I really like my new haircut. It is so easy to take care of!!

My last thought...go to this link. Beautiful post!!!

Family night

We started our night with a canoe ride on the lake. It was great family fun.

This is Daniel not wanting his picture taken!!

Our little fisher man!

This picture is just in here to prove that I was at this family night!!

For dessert we had homemade waffle cones/bowls with ice cream sundeas in them. To end the night we played several hands of Rummy. I believe that it was a great night for all!!

THE END!!

We are home!!!

Emily and I arrived home Monday afternoon. It was a long travel day, but I had an awesome time on our first flight from Phoenix to Atlanta. I had a God ordained passenger next to me. Very early into our conversation, he mentioned that he had prayed about a specific issue. I got very excited and asked if he went to church anywhere. He does go to church and he is very passionate about the Lord!!! We spent about an hour just talking about the Lord and all the GREAT things He has done for us. He showed me lots of pictures from mission trips that he had been on. God was so good to place me next to someone that loved Him too!!!

I will write more soon. I am a little overwhelmed with getting back into the groove of things, so this is all I can write for now!!

Amy and the Big Fish

Of all the folks fishing down by the lake (I can remember at least 9) Amy caught the biggest fish. It was 16 inches long!

Oh! . . . and Daniel caught one too.

I over reacted!!!!

I am so excited that all my fears and over reaction was for nothing!!!! Amy's appointment was yesterday and the doctor said that the mole was harmless!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!! The doctor didn't do anything with the mole, other than study it very carefully. Amy will be getting it removed sometime in October!! I will be able to be there for the whole thing!!

Thank you so much for praying for us!!! You all are so wonderful!!!

Pictures

Here are some of the over 350 pictures that we have taken so far. Arizona is GORGEOUS!!!! The first ones were taken at the Grand Canyon.

This is my favorite picture!! The water is beautiful!!! It was taken at Slide Rock National Park in Sedona, AZ.

The rest were taken outside of the park in Sedona.

This my mom with Emily.

We made it

Jeff and I really felt like this vacation still needed to happen. So Emily and I are in Arizona!!! Jeff is having a blast with the kids and Emily and I are having a blast with my mom.
We are headed away for a few days to see the Grand Canyon and all the sites in between here and there. I will update as I can. Emily's camera is not working....so I am not sure if we will have pictures to post though.

I am feeling....

like I wish that I could give you all the details, but I really don't know them all!! I know that made no sense, but it is true all the same. What I can tell you is that I took Amy to the doctor today. The doctor took one look at the mole that is by Amy's ear and said, "There are three things that we look at to see if a mole is dangerous." She named the three things and then said, "Amy's mole has ALL THREE!" We talked about what needs to happen next. When I got home I called a dermatologist to get an appointment for Amy. The earliest available appointment was sometime in January!! I told the nurse that we can't wait that long. She told me to have Amy's doctor call and they would see what they could do. She ended by saying that she probably would not be able to get her in before two weeks. Ya all I don't know whether to be scared or excited. After talking to Amy's doctor the nurse called me back to tell me that an appointment has been set up for next Tuesday at 11:45!! I started crying immediately. This mole that I have been watching for months is serious. They will be removing the mole and sending it in to be tested. To make matters worse, Emily and I leave Saturday to go to Phoenix for 10 days. I will not be able to be with my baby during all this. If she needed me I WOULD STAY, but I know that there really isn't anything that I can do here. I would have to wait here, so I might as well wait in Arizona. I know that she will be in the best of hands....God's and her Daddy's!!

Some prayer requests....PLEASE PLEASE pray that this mole has not spread, better yet pray that it is nothing!!! Pray that the doctor gets it all. Pray that Amy will heal quickly. Pray that Amy will see her need for a Savior. Last if you would please pray that I can actually enjoy my time away. I am bawling while I type this...I SO want to go, but I feel guilty for leaving.

Why don't they believe me?

I have told my children, if they cut their own hair, they WILL regret it. She didn't believe me!

I have told my children, if they destroy something.....they will have to pay to get it fixed or replace the item! One of them did not believe me. I am in the process of making that child a believer REAL soon!! I am looking for a great seamstress that can fix this and the other cut that was made. If I can't get it fixed, then I get to go shopping with some money from my unbelieving child!!

I have told my dear husband that I should not be cutting his hair. He wouldn't believe me....until last night.

I would like to be fair in this post. My husband has been telling me for years that I would really like granola and yogurt. I did not believe him! Last week I finally weakened and had a taste. I absolutely love the stuff. After a week of eating it, I am so addicted to it...I can't wait for morning to come so that I can have my next bowl. I should have believed him!!!

Hello

Here are some exciting things that have happened to me recently....

  1. Wednesday was an awesome mail day!!! I received three incredible freebies....a giant roll of TOILET PAPER (my personal favorite item of the day), a Fiber One granola bar, and last but not least....a coupon worth $4.99 to be used to buy a HUGE box of Cheerios. I so love Freebies4mom. I have gotten SO MANY free things WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT on my part! That website is AWESOME!!!!
  2. Joel talked to my mom on the phone for at least 15 min the other night. We all had a great time listening to him communicate. Our favorite thing that he said was when he was describing the penny that he had in his hand. When he finished his description he held it up and asked her, "You see it?"
  3. Yesterday, I took Emily to the orthodontist's and to the eye doctor. Teeth look great and she has 20/20 vision....YIPPEE!!
  4. Today my scale actually weighed me at a loss of 20 and 1/2 pounds!!!! Why do I still feel fat, when I am only 3 pounds from my ideal weight for my height?
  5. I am spending a lot of my spare time dreaming and planning for our trip to Arizona!! I CAN'T WAIT TO GO!!!

I DID IT!!!

I lost those nasty twenty pounds....with 10 days to spare!!!!! I am so excited!!!

Another email I just had to share

Top ten reasons I'm Voting Democrat...
10. I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
9. I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
8. I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.
7. I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
6. I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
5. I'm voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.
4. I'm voting Democrat because I believe three or four liberals need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some people who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
3. I'm voting Democrat because I believe that when the terrorists don't have to hide from us over there, when they come over here I don't want to have any guns in the house to fight them off with.
2. I'm voting Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my horse.
1. I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are insane, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.
Makes ya wonder why anyone would EVER vote Republican, now doesn't it?
