Another email I just had to share

Top ten reasons I'm Voting Democrat...
10. I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
9. I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
8. I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.
7. I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
6. I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
5. I'm voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.
4. I'm voting Democrat because I believe three or four liberals need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some people who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
3. I'm voting Democrat because I believe that when the terrorists don't have to hide from us over there, when they come over here I don't want to have any guns in the house to fight them off with.
2. I'm voting Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my horse.
1. I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are insane, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.
Makes ya wonder why anyone would EVER vote Republican, now doesn't it?

  • Excellent points, every one - I've just been converted, thanks!! ;) Even better, the democratic candidate is one of the MOST liberal in congress, so we have nothing to lose...(ok, I can't pull it off...I tried!)

Love the look of your blog, so glad we "met" on twitter!

  • And I am voting Democrat because everything that comes out the GOP is pretty much an untruth. or half-a-truth. Oh wait, that is because I know how to analyze and think not just poke fun and call names.

    signed- "pointy-headed liberal

  • I wrote the above commenter and apologized for the name calling. I now deleated that part out of the email. I was wrong to have left it in there when I first posted it!!!

  • Judith, it took a lot of guts to apologize, and I appreciate it. I have a lot of respect for that act of integrity. This election is a dialogue, and I think we can all discuss the issues without getting personal. At least, I hope so.

I would imagine I could probably write such an email for the other side, but I don't find it productive. I don't let my fear rule me...I am doing my research to choose whom I want to vote for, based upon political positions, not pitbull politics.

And I agree, God is on his throne, absolutely. But remember, the Israelites begged for a king, God warned them, and they got Saul. Makes me wonder about the current administration. Maybe we are getting exactly what we deserve, and not in a good way.

Thanks again for commenting on my blog! :)
